2) What information we collect
Depending on whether you use KD as a customer or a merchant, we may collect:
- Account information (e.g., name, email address, phone number, login credentials or authentication tokens).
- Profile and merchant information (e.g., business name, address, services/menu items, operating details).
- Bookings and orders (e.g., services/items selected, notes, timestamps, status updates).
- Approximate location (if you allow it) to help show nearby merchants and improve relevance.
- Device and app information (e.g., device model/OS version, app version, IP address, diagnostics/crash logs).
- Notification data (e.g., push notification tokens used to deliver booking/order/payment updates).
- Payment-related information (e.g., payment status, transaction references). Payment processing may be handled by third-party payment providers, and we may receive confirmation and references needed for records and support.
- Support communications (e.g., messages you send to support, feedback, screenshots you provide).
3) How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service (create accounts, process bookings/orders, send confirmations and updates).
- To facilitate payments and payouts (where applicable) and keep records for reconciliation and support.
- To communicate with you (service notifications, important updates, support replies).
- To improve reliability and performance (debugging, analytics, crash prevention).
- To protect the Service (fraud prevention, abuse monitoring, security controls).
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4) How we share information
We may share information in limited cases, including:
- With merchants you interact with (e.g., your booking/order details so they can fulfill the request).
- With service providers that help us run KD (e.g., hosting, databases, messaging, crash reporting, analytics).
- With payment providers (to process transactions) and to receive payment confirmations/references.
- For legal reasons (when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security).
- Business transfers (if KD is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale).
5) Data retention
We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Transaction and payout records may be retained for longer where required for accounting, auditing, and compliance needs.
6) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information (such as access controls, encryption in transit where supported, and least-privilege access). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7) Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information.
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data (see below).
- Withdraw consent: Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it (for example, by disabling permissions in device settings).
- Marketing: If we send marketing messages, you can opt out using the instructions in the message.
8) Account deletion (and data deletion requests)
If you created a KD account, you can request deletion in one of the following ways:
- In-app: Use the account settings area (if available in your version) to request deletion.
- Outside the app: Email us at privacy@kkasidash.co.za with the subject line “KD Account Deletion”. Include the phone number/email linked to your account so we can verify the request.
When we process an account deletion request, we will delete or anonymize personal data associated with that account, except where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes (such as financial recordkeeping).
9) Children’s privacy
KD is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10) Third-party links and services
The Service may integrate third-party services (for example, payment processing or analytics). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users (for example, in-app notice).
